La escocesa Brooke Combe canta soul de los sesenta con voz potente en Black Is The New Gold, con el tema título y «A-Game».
Combe creció escuchando a Motown y al northern soul, y sus canciones suenan a girl group clásico con toques de indie británico, en «Are You With Me?», «Talkin' Bout Heartaches» o «Why'd You Say That». Ocho temas en Modern Sky UK.
